BRISTOL — Ember Recreational Vehicles announced plans Tuesday to launch operations in the Bristol Commerce Park later this year.

The new company is investing $4 million to build an 87,750-square-foot building on 15 acres. The manufacturing facility will include new lamination machines and welding equipment and should be completed in September.

Ember RV currently operates out of 18,000 square feet of warehouse, production and office space in Bristol and has grown to 23 employees as it works on prototypes. It was founded earlier this year by Ashley Bontrager Lehman, whose grandparents were the founders of Jayco.

Production is expected to get underway later this year with a projected 150 new jobs by the end of 2023.

Lehman and the company's three other founding partners — Chris Barth, Steve Delagrange and Ernie Miller — opted to start the new business in Elkhart County because of the 'craftmanship, dedication and work ethic of the local workforce,' according to the IEDC release.
